Range Larson

This is Coach Range's third year coaching for Desert Elite, first year as Director and currently coaches the 18s travel team. Since he started with Desert Elite he has always coached the oldest team. The first year he coached the 17s travel team and last year he coached an 18s travel team.

Coach Range started coaching when he was in college at UNLV where he was a player, coach, and the president of the UNLV Volleyball Club. During this time UNLV Women's Coach Deitre Collins ask Coach Range to be their Volunteer Assistant Coach. Coach Range gladly accepted. That turned out to be Coach Collins last year but the new Coach Allison Keeley asked Coach Range to come back on as the Volunteer Assistant which he gladly accepted.

Coach Range left UNLV's program to pursue coaching on his own. It was then that Desert Elite asked him to come on staff and coach the 17s travel team. He was then asked to coach for Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas. During the Women's season he coached the JV team to a winning season with only 2 losses. When the Men's season rolled around he was the Head Varsity Coach. The team made it to the post season with players that received regional recognition, as well as one player chosen as regional MVP. That was Coach Range's last season coaching for Palo Verde, due to taking over the demanding directors position for Desert Elite.

Coach Range started playing volleyball his sophomore year at Green Valley High School in Henderson, NV. His junior year they became the Nevada State Champions. He then went on to start the UNLV Volleyball Club team. During his junior and senior years the team posted back to back 7th place finishes in the NCAA Division I Club tournament in a field of over 150 teams. The highlight of their last season was beating the undefeated national champions, University of Arizona, to take the Mountain West Invitational tournament. Coach Range has also won multiple grass tournaments, including Div. AA 2002 USA/NCVA Park Volley National Championships. Coach Range has also played in some AVP professional beach volleyball qualifiers. Also, Coach Range was part of the 2006 Div. A Gold Medal team, and the 2007 Div. A Silver Medal team at the USA Volleyball Championships.

Coach Range has a beautiful girlfriend April and the most beautiful daughter in the world Kali. Kali will undoubtedly be an extraordinary volleyball player.
